2020 has been an overwhelming yea. Canada, a country that’s borders open wide for immigrants has experienced border closure since March. IRCC has come to terms with the fact that when dear one’s are near even the biggest challenges can be faced. As of October, the situation has been curbed to some extent and immediate family members of citizens and permanent residents were allowed to travel. Recently IRCC is giving opportunity for extended family members and compassionate travellers to visit Canada. In order to be eligible to travel the applicant must be staying in Canada for more than 15 days and have a proper quarantine plan maped out before hand. The applicants also require a signed declaration from their relative/spouse/extended family member that is either a citizen or holds a permanent resident card in Canada.
Canada is being lenient with those applicants that wish to attend a funeral of a loved one, or wish to provide medical support to someone, or just be present with someone in their final moments of life if they are very ill.
Even dating partners can be reunited under these compassionate grounds only if they can prove that they have been in a relationship for a year and that the two have met in person.
