There have been speculations and confusion regarding the English proficiency requirement for submitting your file due to COVID19. The simple answer to that is that Canada accepts two tests ( IELTS AND CELPIP). Due to COVID19, there is another test that students can give for the time being and will be accepted for temporary purposes called the DUOLINGO TEST.
The English language proficiency test is an integral part of an applicant’s file and the more score a person has the higher their CRS score becomes which is beneficial for them. Due to the pandemic, even immigrants inside Canada were not able to complete their PR applications as IELTS centers were closed but due to the uplifting change in the situation, IELTS centers are re-opening and will take adequate measures to ensure the safety of people. Measures such as cleaning the venue, using masks and gloves, and maintaining social distancing measures in test rooms. IELTS is now available in 89 countries and CELPIP is open in all 6 countries of its operation.
Hence if you are worried about the English exam, put your worries aside as the tests are being more readily available for anyone wanting to immigrate.
