June 17′ 2020, A parliamentary session was held where Marco Mendicino (Immigration minister) and Katrina Tapley (Deputy minister) answered important questions regarding the changes made in the immigration system due to this ongoing pandemic. The ongoing pandemic has pushed. Canadian immigration to alter their ways to assist people to immigrate to Canada. Though the virus is definitely been successful in causing hindrance and slowing down processes, the immigration is focused on inviting students or enabling them to take admission to Canadian colleges and complete 50% of their course from the comfort of their home country. Students will also be eligible to apply for PGWP without having any of their time deducted from their PGWP process. Even the students that had already received their study permits before the pandemic will not be able to travel and have the luxury of starting school in Canada. The latest update mentions that the IRCC is processing more permits and students will be notified as and when that happens. Even though immigration might seem like an ordeal right now but the Canadian immigration is getting ready to welcome more and more permanent residents and students as soon as the world is back on its two feet ready to run again.
